Legal requirements of pupils images

Every school has a current policy in place to ensure the safety and well being of pupils in the schools care, regarding photographs/images of them. The data protection act, aims to protect children in many circumstances, as well as children’s information been misused, and photos being used in school news papers, this ensures that the photos being used are appropriate and that parents/careers and children have given full consent, as long as the pictures are not misused. Children and parents/careers have the right to withdraw there consent of photos been taken or used at any time, and a signature of both the children and parents/careers is needed.

Questionnaire analysis

So as you can see from the results of my questionnaire, the majority of students who took part in the questionnaire wanted their magazine to have mainly shorter stories to read about rather than long ones, and have a mixture of sizes of fonts. The most popular front cover colour was black and white, with both larger and small images. The style of music genre will be R+B, with an interview of a local band; also there was an interest in school issues pending on the subject of them. Mainly black font will be used, with a usual break of different colours, with lots of images the whole way through, the whole magazine will possibly be about 3-5 pages long. I will try my best to create a suitable magazine with these choices.

Deconstruction of School Magazine 3

This is King Edwards VI high school for girls, school magazine, this magazine stands out the best for me, the name of the magazine stands out above the rest of the cover on the top central, so the readers know what the are reading. The picture used for the back round is very colourful and eye catching and takes up most of the cover, although the out line of the back round of the picture is mainly black the people’s outfits are extremely colourful and completely stands out, and id high lighted well. The magazine keeps with white writing through out the cover as it works well to stand out over the black. Although at the bottom left of the magazine one word stands out, although only small text the word ‘plus’ grabs your attention and tells us more about what’s inside the magazine so we don’t miss out. This magazine highlights the drama as a key subject at this school which is good to let future pupils know this is a good subject to choose. Although the magazine has lots of thing happening, at the top right of the magazine just above the header is the name of the school, this could easily be unnoticed, as you’re drawn to the picture.

Deconstruction of School Magazine 2

This is Hilbre high schools, school magazine, what first draws you in too this magazine is it big bold white heading ‘Hilbre Endeavour’, which is top centre of the magazine, the word ‘Hilbre’ is slightly bigger as this is the name of the school. The school logo is at the top right of the magazine and again is sticking with white, the whole magazines colours is quite neutral and the school colours, although the logo is hard to notice straight away as it does seem to blend into the back round. The back round of the magazine is outdoors, you can see a slight few trees at the back and the floor is obviously an out doors floor, although the back round is mainly covered by  a block purple colour. The picture that has been used of course stands out on this magazine as most of what the people in the picture are wearing dark coloured clothing, with the logo on the blazers standing out on the uniform.
The picture is with students and pupils this shows pupils and teachers working along side each other to complete the goal. As the picture is central and takes up most of the magazine cover it hasn’t left too much space for details what else is inside the magazine and has used a small text at the left bottom corner of the magazine to advertise this. The word ‘inside’ just above the advertisement of what else is on, is in white writing which is difficult to recognise straight away, a bolder colour and bigger writing of the whole things would have stood out more. If the magazine had used a few more different colours on the magazine as a whole it would have looked more appealing, and eye catching.

Deconstruction of School Magazine 1

This is Wallasey High Schools, school magazine, when you first look at this magazine you are attracted to so many things as there is quite a lot going on in the magazine, the main draw in that attracted me is the school logo, on the very top right, as it stands out because of its bold colours and it being in the corner nothing is over lapping or hiding it. The heading of this magazine is the name ‘Life’ on the left centre of the magazine, this is thought was blended into the back round, and also it has been used in transparent colours so it moulds into the back round and also it is over lapping the main picture. This magazine cover has a natural out doors back round and this shows that the pupils are actually outside and not cropped in  later, it is sunny out which is giving off a good atmosphere as well as the pupils looks on there faces. The school name is at the top and central of the magazine and it does stand out as it has a black outlining all around the white writing, the logo, the heading of the magazine and the school motto have all used the same colours as this is the schools colours, black, red and white and this represents the school more.
As mentioned the motto is sticking with the school colours although hard to notice on the top left of the magazine.Although the main sections of the magazine are quite powerful colours at the bottom of the magazine, quite dull colours have been used to tell us information on what’s happening in the school, they don’t stand out as much and because they have been put over the main picture difficult to read, if a black outlining had been put around the writing it would have definitely stood out more.
